The Nurse Practitioner is a member of an integrated health care team that provides service to marginalized communities, emphasizing holistic care, health promotion and disease prevention. They diagnose and manage common disorders and diseases seen in primary health care, in collaboration with the client and the physician. The Nurse Practitioner works as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary harm reduction team that addresses issues in the community such as addiction, mental health and poverty. They are responsible and accountable for their practice.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Chief of Surgery provides leadership to the Department of Surgery and serves as the liaison between members of the department and senior hospital leadership. The Chief is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality care, as well as the daily administration of the Department of Surgery. As Departmental Chief, the successful candidate is responsible for providing organizational leadership on issues related to surgical services and for ensuring effective and efficient program operations in alignment with the hospital’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values.
